Jags Top Lander, 3-2

GREENWOOD, S.C. - Augusta State topped Lander 3-2 on Wednesday night in Peach Belt Conference action in Greenwood, S.C.

ASU, who improved to 20-10 overall and 7-5 in the conference, reached its 20-win mark for first time since 1999. With the loss Lander dropped to 17-11 on the season and 6-5 in the PBC.

Sophomore Lagi Roberts paced the Jags with a double-double including 15 kills and 19 digs. Senior Jessica Howard tallied 13 kills, while junior Tarah Childress added 11 kills and five block assists. Senior Lindsey Weider booked 29 digs and junior Dianna Meyer had 16 digs. Sophomore setter Ashley Zappitell posted a match-high 49 assists.

For Lander, Melissa McCracken had a match-high 24 kills, while Lindsey Everhart notched 14 kills. Candace LaRocca booked a double-double with 40 assists and 11 digs, while Ashley Ferry tallied 29 digs.

The Jags return to play Saturday, Oct. 31 when they travel to Florence, S.C., to take on Francis Marion in a Peach Belt Conference match at 3:00 p.m.
