SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Augusta
State's National Semifinal appearance vs. Cal Poly Pomona on
Thursday, March 26 will be televised live by CBS College Sports
Network, according to an announcement from the NCAA on
Wednesday.
The contest, slated for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff, can be viewed live
locally in the Augusta, Ga., area on Comcast cable system's
Channel 274, while the game will be carried on Knology cable
system's Channel 195. On Direct TV, CBS College Sports
Network can be seen on Channel 613, while Dish Network carries CBS
College Sports Network on Channel 152.
Veteran play-by-play announcer Charlie Neal will handle the
broadcast duties along with color analyst Dan Bonner, a regular on
CBS's coverage of the NCAA Division I and Division II
Tournaments.
The fourth-ranked Jaguars, riding a 16-game winning streak,
advanced to the Final Four for the second consecutive season with a
70-62 victory over No. 15 Christian Brothers Wednesday afternoon.
Junior guard Ben Madgen paced ASU with 16 points, while junior
forward Fred Brathwaite tallied 15 and sophomore guard Caleb Brown
booked 12, all in the second half, as the Jags erased a 14-point
halftime deficit by outscoring the Buccaneers 52-30 in the second
half.
ASU takes on Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday in the first of two
National Semifinal matchups in the NCAA's Elite Eight in the
MassMutual Center. The unranked Broncos (24-7), who feature
All-American forward Larry Gordon, knocked off 12th-ranked
Southwest Minnesota State 79-74 in Thursday's second
quarterfinal matchup.
