AUGUSTA, Ga. --
Augusta State fell to Flagler 3-0 Saturday night in a Peach Belt
Conference matchup at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The contest marked the 2009 home opener and Peach Belt Conference
opener for the Jaguars, who dropped to 7-5 overall and 0-1 in the
PBC.
Senior Jessica Howard paced the Jags with 13 kills and had two
block assists. Sophomore setter Ashley Zappitell netted 24 assists
and added two block assists. Senior libero Lindsey Weider booked 12
digs, while junior Tarah Childress notched seven digs and had two
service aces.
For the Saints, junior Meg Weathersby led the team with 15 kills.
Senior Justine Burkhardt added 11 kills, while freshman Casey Gnann
tallied 18 digs. Sophomore Olivia Snipes booked 20 assists and had
3 service aces.
The Jags return to play Tuesday, Sept. 22, when they host Francis
Marion Peach Belt Conference action in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The first serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
