AUGUSTA, Ga. --Augusta State swept Paine 3-0 Tuesday night in a non-conference match at Carter Gymnasium.

With the victory, ASU improved its record to 9-8 on the season, while Paine dropped to 8-6 on the year.

Senior Jessica Howard led ASU with nine kills and four blocks. Also aiding in the win for the Jags was Sophomore Lagi Roberts, who booked nine kills. Sophomore setter Ashley Zappitell netted 21 assists and a service ace. Sophomore Jessica Hanson added eight kills and four blocks.

The Jags return to play Thursday, Oct. 1, when they travel to Aiken, S.C, to take on USC Aiken in Peach Belt Conference action. The first serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
