HICKORY, N.C. -- Five players scored in double figures as Augusta State remained undefeated with an 88-50 non-conference road win over Lenoir-Rhyne Wednesday at Shuford Gymnasium. The contest marked a stretch in which five of ASU's next six games are away from home.

The Jaguars (8-0), who entered the contest leading the Peach Belt Conference in scoring defense (54.8 ppg.), allowed 59 points or less for the sixth time in eight games.

ASU junior guard Tye Beal drained a career-high four 3-pointers and paced the squad in scoring for the second time this season with 16 points. Senior forward Franck Ndongo booked his second straight double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Senior guard George Johnson drilled five treys for 15 points, while sophomore guard Ben Purser posted 13 points and four assists. Senior forward Howard Brown matched his career high for the second game in a row with 10 points. Junior guard O'Neal Armstrong dished out a Jags' season-high eight assists and added eight points.

Allen Jones led the Bears (1-6) with 16 points and was their only player to reach double figures. Lenoir-Rhyne was limited to just 37.5 percent shooting from the field and made just two 3-pointers.

Armstrong canned a 3-pointer off a feed from Johnson just 28 seconds into the game and ASU never trailed en route to a 43-24 halftime lead. The Jags shot 61.2 percent for the game and connected on a season-high 13 treys while committing a season-low nine turnovers.

ASU resumes its conference schedule on Saturday, Dec. 18, traveling to Clayton State for a 7:30 p.m. matchup.
