AUGUSTA, Ga. --
USC Aiken rallied from a 2-1 deficit Wednesday night and posted a
3-2 Peach Belt Conference victory over Augusta State in
Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The loss dropped the Jaguars to 5-10 overall and 2-4 in league
play, while USCA evened its overall record at 7-7 and improved to
4-3 in the conference.
Senior Tarah Childress paced ASU with 16 kills, while juniors Lagi Roberts and Jessica Hanson booked 11 kills each. Sophomore Mandy Irizarry chipped in 10 kills, while Roberts posted her seventh
double-double with 10 digs. Freshman libero Andria Tagarelli had a
team-high 23 digs and freshman setter Lisa Bartsch notched 40
assists.
Shannon Byers led the Pacers with 16 kills, Emily Maassen turned in
14 and Megan Disney added 11. Ashley Farwell (44) and Alex Petock
(21) combined for 65 assists and Samantha Lukralle garnered 40
digs.
The Jags continue their six-match homestand on Saturday, Oct. 2
when they host Montevallo and Catawba in a tri-match beginning at
3:00 p.m., in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
