PEMBROKE, N.C. – Augusta State senior guard Blaire Egardo tallied a game-high 24 points, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Jaguars dropped a 66-58 Peach Belt Conference decision Thursday night in English E. Jones Center.
UNCP improved to 6-10 overall and 2-6 in the PBC, while the loss -- the seventh straight for the Lady Jags – dropped them to 6-9 and 0-7 PBC, respectively.
Freshman guard Brooke McCants managed 12 points for the Lady Jags, who connected on a season-high nine 3-pointers and forced 23 Lady Braves' turnovers. Egardo shot 8-of-14 from the field and hit 6-of-11 3-point attempts, matching her season high. The 20-point effort was her sixth of the season and just three points off her career high,
Briana Stanton sparked UNCP with 16 points off the bench, Jatoya Kemp notched a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Domonique Washington managed 12 points.
The Lady Braves, who shot 42.3 percent from the field and outrebounded ASU 46-25, led 35-26 at the half. The Lady Jags outpointed UNCP 32-31 in the second half.
The Lady Jags play host to No. 17 USC Aiken on Monday, Jan. 24 at 5:30 p.m.
