ASU Earns Non-Conference Road Split

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State swept Johnson C. Smith 3-0 Saturday night in Charlotte, N.C., to earn a non-conference road victory and a split of the day's matches. The Jags dropped a 3-0 decision Saturday afternoon to Catawba in Salisbury, N.C.

With the split, the Jaguars moved their record to 9-11 on the season.

Against Johnson C. Smith, freshman Alex Rohlfing turned in 11 kills and six digs and freshman Lauren Alverson tallied 24 assists. Freshman Collette Richards booked 22 digs, while senior Jessica Hanson had seven kills and four block assists. Freshman Kristen Koch chipped in six kills and senior Lagi Roberts and freshman Page Tuttle notched two aces each.

Earlier in the day, Rohlfing (11) and Hanson (nine) combined for 20 kills, but it wasn't enough in a 3-0 loss at Catawba. Junior setter Krystin Wahlig recorded 30 assists and 10 digs. Rohlfing managed 11 digs of her own for her ninth double-double of the season.

ASU hosts UNC Pembroke in a Peach Belt Conference contest on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m., in Christenberry Fieldhouse. The match will mark the first of four straight home events for the Jags.
