AIKEN, S.C. -- Augusta State battled back from an early deficit Tuesday night to register a 3-1 Peach Belt Conference road win over USC Aiken at the Convocation Center.
With the victory, the Jaguars completed the season sweep of the Pacers. The win pulled ASU back to the .500 mark in the league at 5-5 and within a game of the .500 mark overall (13-14).
Senior Jessica Hanson shined for the Jags with a match-high 16 kills without a single error and a .615 hitting percentage. She added 3.0 blocks (one solo and four assists). Freshmen Alex Rohlfing (13) and Kristen Koch (11) combined for 24 kills, while junior setter Krystin Wahlig racked up 42 assists. Freshman Collette Richards came up with 27 digs and Wahlig chipped in 11 digs.
Endea Ellison and Shannon Byers paced USCA with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Alex Petcok turned in 21 assists and Sheila Walsh pitched in 14. Byers notched a double-double with 18 digs and Samantha Lukralle had 15 digs.
The Jags racked up 54 kills against just 17 errors and a .248 hitting percentage, while booking 12.0 blocks.
ASU hits the road this weekend, traveling to St. Augustine, Fla., on Friday, Oct. 28 to take on Flagler at 7:00 p.m. The Jags take on Coastal Georgia on Saturday at 10:00 a.m., in Brunswick before traveling back up I-95 to face PBC leader and 16th-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State that afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
