AUGUSTA, Ga. -- UNC Pembroke continued its strong play Wednesday night, posting a 3-1 victory over Augusta State in a Peach Belt Conference match in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The Braves, coming off a big win over one of the Southeast region's top teams (Catawba) Tuesday night, pulled to .500 on the season at 10-10 and 3-3 in the PBC. The Jaguars dropped to 9-12 and 2-4, respectively.
Senior Jessica Hanson paced ASU with 12 kills and a .258 hitting percentage. Junior Krystin Wahlig notched 32 assists and freshman Collette Richards led the way defensively with 22 digs. Freshman Alex Rohlfing added 11 kills and senior Lagi Roberts turned in 11 digs.
Tricia Varno and Rebecca Morgan paced the Braves with 11 kills and Ashlyn Rebok booked 38 assists. Marissa Baker led UNCP with 18 digs, and Hannah Hill (12) and Rebok (11) combined for 23 digs..
The Jags continue their four-match homestand this weekend when they host Bentley University on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7:00 p.m., and Francis Marion on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 2:00 p.m.
