FLORENCE, S.C. -- Augusta State closed out its Peach Belt Conference schedule on the road Saturday, falling 3-1 to Francis Marion at Smith University Center.
The loss dropped the Jaguars to 14-18 overall and 5-9 in the PBC. The victory lifted the Patriots to 12-17 on the season and 4-10 in the league.
Junior Mandy Irizarry led ASU with a season-high 17 kills. Freshman Alex Rohlfing booked her 10th double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs, while Jessica Hanson and Paige Tuttle turned in 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Krystin Wahlig amassed 53 assists and Collette Richards notched a team-high 20 digs. Junior Meredith Berce recorded a season-best 17 digs and Wahlig chipped in 11.
Megan Mooney paced a balanced Patriot attack with 11 kills, Nicole Bennett was credited with 45 assists and Hallie Legg came up with 27 digs.
FMU (.280) enjoyed an edge in hitting percentage over the Jags (.217) and combined for 7.0 team blocks.
ASU closes out its regular-season schedule at home vs. Coastal Georgia on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m., and plays host to the Peach Belt Conference Championships next weekend in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
