MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- Augusta State suffered its worst shooting night of the season in a 71-39 Peach Belt Conference loss to Georgia College on Thursday in Centennial Center.
The Bobcats' Chimere Jordan, the nation's third-leading scorer at 20.9 ppg., tallied a double-double with 29 points and 10 rebounds and Dominique Huffin added 14 as GC improved to 15-5 overall and 7-5 in the PBC. The loss dropped ASU to 7-15 and 1-13, respectively.
No player scored in double figures for the Lady Jaguars, who shot only 23.2 percent for the game. Senior guard Blaire Egardo and sophomore forward Waneta Carlisle had seven points each. . Egardo and sophomore reserve guard Morgan Goss each snagged four steals.
GC shot 51.9 percent in the first half and opened up a 39-19 lead at the break. The Bobcats connected on eight 3-pointers and owned the rebounding advantage, 48-32.
The 39 points marked a season low for ASU, which was 3-of-12 from long range.
The Lady Jags travel to Montevallo, Ala., on Saturday, Feb. 12 to take on the Lady Falcons at 2:30 p.m. (EST) at BankTrust Arena.
