ASU Tabbed To Host Fifth Straight Regional

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State will play host to its fifth consecutive NCAA Southeast Regional on March 12, 13 and 15, according to an announcement late Sunday night from the NCAA national headquarters in Indianapolis, Ind.

The fifth-ranked Jaguars (28-3) learned of their postseason fate during a Selection Show gathering in the Jaguar Student Activities Center (JSAC) Coffeehouse.

The Peach Belt Conference regular-season and PBC Tournament champion, ASU will be the regional's No. 1 seed and will take on eighth-seeded UNC Pembroke on Saturday at 6:00 p.m., in Christenberry Fieldhouse. The regional will mark the Jags' fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and seventh trip to the Big Dance in the past 11 seasons.

The Peach Belt Conference will be well represented in the Southeast Regional, with the top-seeded Jaguars, No. 3 seed Georgia Southwestern, No. 6 Montevallo and No. 8 UNC Pembroke.

Saturday's matchups will feature No. 3 Georgia Southwestern (20-8) vs. No. 6 Montevallo (18-10) at 12:00 noon; No. 2 Lincoln Memorial (27-2) vs. No. 7 Anderson (18-11) at 2:30 p.m.; the No. 1 Jaguars (28-3) vs. the No. 8 Braves (18-11) at 6:00 p.m.; and No. 4 Queens (20-7) vs. No. 5 Limestone (23-6) at 8:30 p.m.

Ticket information for the four NCAA Tournament first-round games will be finalized during an NCAA conference call on Tuesday, March 8.
