AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State bounced back from a loss in the first set to take the next three and register a 3-1 non-conference victory over Limestone Tuesday night in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
With the win, the Jaguars improved to 6-8 overall while the Saints slipped to 5-7.
Junior Mandy Irizarry tallied 16 kills against just two errors and paced ASU with a .560 hitting percentage. Freshman Alex Rohlfing, the reigning Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week, booked 16 kills of her own and just missed her eighth double-double of the season, finishing with nine digs.
Junior setter Krystin Wahlig racked up 45 assists and defensively, freshman Chelsea Foster and Wahlig booked 13 digs each, while freshman Collette Richards added 12 digs of her own. Richards and Foster combined for eight of the Jags' 11 aces on the evening.
ASU posted a .246 hitting percentage compared to just .157 for Limestone. Kassi Boedeker and Jordan Preville paced the Saints with 11 kills and Danielle Seibert had 30 assists.
The Jags continue their five-match homestand this weekend when they host a pair of key Peach Belt Conference matchups vs. Flagler and Armstrong Atlantic State. ASU takes on the Saints on Friday, Sept. 23 at 7:00 p.m., and meet the Pirates on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 4:00 p.m.
