AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State registered a 3-0 victory over USC Aiken in a Peach Belt Conference match Friday night in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The victory lifted the Jaguars to 8-10 on the season and 2-3 in the PBC, while the Pacers slipped to 6-10 overall and 1-2, respectively.
Freshman Kristen Koch paced ASU with eight kills and fellow freshman Alex Rohlfing added seven. Junior Mandy Irizarry (six) and senior Jessica Hanson (five) combined for 11 kills and junior setter Krystin Wahlig booked 27 assists. Wahlig and freshman libero Collette Richards had 12 digs each. Freshman Page Tuttle chipped in four kills and four blocks, including a pair of solos.
Endea Ellison turned in a match-high nine kills for USC Aiken, while Sheila Walsh posted 16 assists and Ashley Farwell logged 13 assists. Pacers' libero Samantha Lukralle finished the evening with 12 digs.
The Jags registered a .242 hitting percentage, compared to .109 for USC Aiken. The Pacers actually tallied more kills (42) than ASU (34).
The Jags hit the road for a pair of non-conference matches on Saturday. They first travel to Salisbury, N.C., to take on Catawba at 2:00 p.m., before heading to Charlotte, N.C., to take on Johnson C. Smith at 6:30 p.m.
