FLORENCE, S.C. -- Augusta State raced out to a 2-0 lead Saturday afternoon before Francis Marion battled back and upended the Jaguars, 3-2, in Peach Belt Conference action at Smith University Center.
The loss snapped a stretch of four straight victories for ASU, which slipped to 11-10 overall and 2-5 in the PBC. The Patriots improved to 11-7 and 3-4, respectively.
ASU sophomore Alex Rohlfing booked a team-high 13 kills against just two errors and Jenna Keeler notched 11. Lauren Alverson tallied 21 assists and Krystin Wahlig netted 18. Andria Tagarelli paced the squad with 25 digs, Collette Richards posted 18 and Mandy Irizarry chipped in 15.
The Jags finished the match with 48 kills and a .152 hitting percentage.
ASU hosts USC Aiken on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7:00 p.m., in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
