AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State picked up its first Peach Belt Conference win of the season Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 victory over Lander in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
With the victory, ASU pulled even at 9-9 overall and improved to 1-4 in the PBC. The Bearcats, who were coming off a 3-0 victory at Montevallo on Friday, dropped to 7-8 and 3-1, respectively.
Four Jaguars – Paige Tuttle, Leslye Barnett, Jenna Keeler and Mandy Irizarry -- netted 10 kills each. Krystin Wahlig tallied 39 assists and Lauren Alverson added nine of her own. Libero Andria Tagarelli racked up a season-high 31 digs, her third straight match with double-figure dig totals.
The Jags hit .218 as a team and combined for 54 kills. Lander, in its first season under Ashley Stathas, posted a .132 hitting percentage. Hannah Dederick paced the Bearcats with 11 kills.
ASU travels to Gaffney, S.C., to take on Limestone in a non-conference match on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 7:00 p.m.
