AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State dropped the first set Tuesday night at Limestone, then battled back to win three straight sets and register a 3-1 non-conference victory at Timken Center.
The win was the third straight for the Jaguars, who improved 10-9 on the season. The Saints fell to 3-16 overall.
Junior Jenna Keeler paced ASU with 11 kills against just two errors. Kristen Koch notched eight kills and Mandy Irizarry booked seven kills and eight digs. Alex Rohlfing (six) and Leslye Barnett (five) combined for 11 kills in the team effort. Senior setter Krystin Wahlig netted 18 assists and Lauren Alverson turned in 12 assists.
Collette Richards led the way with 11 digs and Andria Tagarelli chipped in 10 digs, while Wahlig and Alverson narrowly missed a pair of double-doubles, recording nine digs each. Richards notched five service aces as the squad combined for 11 on the evening.
The Jags hit .149 as a team and combined for 45 kills, compared to just 32 kills for Limestone and a .015 hitting percentage.
ASU returns to Peach Belt Conference play this weekend, traveling to UNC Pembroke on Friday, Oct. 9 and to Francis Marion on Saturday.
