SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Augusta State dropped a pair of matches Saturday away from home, falling 3-1 to Armstrong Atlantic State and 3-2 to Lynn at Alumni Arena on the campus of AASU.
With the pair of losses, ASU slipped to 7-9 overall and 0-4 in the Peach Belt Conference. Armstrong improved to 14-3 overall and 2-0 in the PBC, while Lynn – members of the Sunshine State Conference -- climbed to 10-3 on the season.
Sophomore Alex Rohlfing paced the Jaguars against Armstrong with 10 kills and Leslye Barnett and Jenna Keeler managed seven kills each. Lauren Alverson (17) and Krystin Wahlig combined for 28 assists and Andria Tagarelli had a team-best nine digs.
Against the Fighting Knights, Keeler racked up a match-high 17 kills against just four errors. Wahlig was credited with 26 assists and Alverson netted 16. Tagarelli (18) was one of four Jags with double-figure dig totals; Collette Richards posted 15 and Mandy Irizarry and Wahlig notched 13 each.
The Jags travel to Charlotte, N.C. on Wednesday, Oct. 3 for a non-conference matchup vs. Queens at 6:30 p.m.
