Box Score MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Augusta University women's basketball team continued play in the Peach Belt conference on Saturday afternoon with a double-digit victory over Montevallo, 69-58, at the Trustmark Arena.
The triumph improved Augusta's (8-2, 2-0 PBC) win streak to five in a row, including back-to-back conference wins.
Joshlyn Belcher scored 14 points off the bench to pace the team, shooting four out of eight from three-point land. Camille Gee dropped 13 points and Breonna O'Conner contributed 10 points.
Kariel Hutt anchored the defensive side with eight rebounds, five steals and a blocked shot.
Montevallo's (3-6, 0-2 PBC) Katherine Goldsby led all players with 17 points, while Courtney Mckenzie posted a double-double behind 11 points and 12 boards.
As a team, the Jags shot 47.2 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc.
The Falcons won the rebounding battle 36-to-26, but the Jaguars protected the basketball by winning the turnover margin 23-to-14. The Jaguars also produced 22 points off turnovers.
Augusta hosts Claflin for a non-conference game on Thursday, Dec. 31 at 2:00 p.m. at the HEAL Complex on the Paine College Campus.
