Box Score Jaguars improve to 5-0 on the new season with non-conference win
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The GRU Augusta women's volleyball team took down the Anderson Trojans 3-0 on Tuesday night in the Jaguars' 2015 home opener in Christenberry Fieldhouse
The Jaguars (5-0) have only lost one set out of the 15 they have played in their five matches. The home opener saw GRU jump to an early 2-0 lead over the Trojans (2-2) by hitting .324 in set to one to AU's .067.
Senior Alyssa Latham assisted 39 shots and added 10 digs in the GRU win, while senior Kailla Baptiste and junior Rachel Windle each knocked 12 kills. Windle also added 10 digs and junior Catherine DeSilvester had 13 and junior JaNhea Beisner 12 digs.
Up 2-0 in the match after taking two sets 25-18 and 25-17, GRU trailed early in set three for the first time in the entire match. GRU went behind 18-16 in the third set, but a Baptiste Kill and AU error tied the non-conference match at 18-all.
