ORLANDO, Fla. – Augusta University is in ninth place out of 15 teams after two rounds at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational on Monday at Isleworth Country Club. The Jaguars are six-over par with one more round to play.
The Augusta Jaguars began round two tied in fifth place with No. 36 Arizona State at even par. No. 7 Florida and No. 31 Purdue had a two stroke lead over the 15-team field at five-under par to start the second round, but the Gators ran away with the lead and sit 16-under par.
Round three concludes the tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 18.
Jags junior Broc Everett earned a tie for seventh with a 73 (+1) in round two after he shot a 69 on Sunday. Everett is tied for seventh overall with five other competitors.
Senior Cooper Brown carded the next best score for Augusta and is tied for 21st with an even-par 72. Sitting six places behind Brown is senior Emmanuel Kountakis who also carded an even-par 72 in the second round for 27th place.
Senior Jake Marriott added a few strokes to his total score and is tied for 41st while freshman Gustav Andersson improved one stroke and is in 69th.
The total field includes UAB, Arizona, Arizona State, Augusta, California, No. 7 Florida, No. 1 Illinois, New Mexico, No. 9 North Carolina, North Florida, North Texas, Purdue, No. 6 Texas Tech, UCF, and No. 3 Vanderbilt.
