Box Score Pembroke, N.C. – The Augusta University Volleyball team picked up a 3-0 win over UNC Pembroke today in a conference match. The Jags are now 22-8 on the year and improve to 6-4 in Peach Belt play. The Braves drop to 15-19 overall with a 2-9 mark in conference action.
Augusta was led by Kylie Martin who posted another double-double with 10 kills and 17 digs, both of which were team highs. Madison Malloch and Jessica Hedrick had the top two hitting percentages on the day, with Malloch hitting .429 with six kills on 14 swings, and Hedrick posting a .412 with seven kills on 17 attempts.Payton Murchie dished out 22 assists on in the match to lead the team, while the defense saw both Cloe Allen and Hanna Siefert throw up six blocks.
As a team Augusta hit .199 to UNCP's .107, while laying down 45 kills to the Braves' 34. The Jaguars played a clean match, only posting 17 errors and scoring 60 points to Pembroke's 39. Both sides had a good defensive game with only two digs separating the teams, but Augusta totaled 20 block assists and a pair of solo blocks to UNCP's four total.
Augusta returns home for their next match against the USC Aiken Pacers on Friday, November 15th at 7:00 p.m.
