BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Augusta University men's golf team is in seventh place after playing two rounds on Tuesday at the Graeme McDowell Intercollegiate at Greystone Founders Golf Course. Augusta's Ben van Wyk is tied for third overall at 4-under par and is two shots off the lead.
The 10-team field opened play on the par-72, 7299-yard course. Georgia Southern leads the tournament 10-under par. Host UAB is in second at 7-under par, with Coastal Carolina sitting third (-6).
The Jaguars squad for the tournament is Ben van Wyk, Alex van Wyk, Dan Sheehan, Hampus Wijkstrom, Brock Hoover, and Dawson Booth.
The Jags were tied for seventh through one round, after shooting 3-over par (291). The team turned in a 292 (+4) in the second round.
The Graeme McDowell Invitational concludes Wednesday with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m. Augusta tees off at 8:30. All teams will remain within their team groupings.
