AUGUSTA, Ga - The August University Volleyball team lost 3-1 to the visiting Flagler College saints in their first home game of the season. Augusta moves to 11-4, 2-1 in the PBC while Flagler improves to 7-3, 3-0 in Peach Belt play.

After losing the first two sets, AU battled back to win the third set 28-26. The Jaguars held the Saints to a negative hitting percentage in the set. Set 4 also proved to be a back-and-forth affair with both teams staying within 3 points of the other for the entirety of the set. Kills by
Chloe Allen and
Alyssa Frazier helped even the score at 23 in the late part of the stanza, but back to back kills from Flagler closed the set 27-25

AU had 46 kill in the match to Flagler's 43 and both teams were even in digs and assists. However the visiting Saints held Augusta to a .021 hitting percentage, one of its lowest of the season.
Offensively, Augusta was led by
Alyssa Frazier and
Kylie Martin with 10 kills apiece.
Chloe Allen added 9 kills of her own.
Defensively,
Kylie Martin and
Holland Martin each led with 21 digs.
Chloe Allen had 5 blocks to add to the defensive effort.
Samantha Zittrauer dished 24 assists during the contest.

Flagler was led by Jordan Berglin's 18 kills.

The Jaguars remain home for a non-conference match-up against West Georgia on Wednesday Oct 6
th at 6:00pm.
