Salisbury, NC. – The Augusta University Women's Basketball team won a non-conference contest against the Livingstone College Blue Bears 70-35. The Jags continue their hot start, improving to 5-1 for the season,
The Jags outscored 14-9 in the first quarter. The second quarter was an evenly balanced affair, with both teams nearly matching each other basket for basket. Livingstone battled back scoring 13 points to AU's 16 in the stanza.
The second half of play was all Augusta. The Jaguars only allowed 6 points in the third quarter and 7 points in the fourth.
Augusta extended its huge lead through the second half and would double their opponent's score for a 70-35 victory.
For the game, Augusta shot 23-of-56 (41.1%) from the field and going one-for-eleven from downtown. Defensively, the Jags snagged 46 rebounds and managed five blocks.
Kennedi Manning led the squad with 17 points on the night. ZAirya West and
Tomiyah Alford both had solid performances, turning in 10 points apiece.
Defensively, JeBria Fullwood;ss 9 rebounds led Augusta, while her 4 steals also topped the squad.
The Jags return to action this Saturday when they host the Allen University at 1:30pm.
