HILTON HEAD, SC. – Augusta University men's golf took home second place after 2 days at the Pinnacle Bank Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, SC.
Hosted by Francis Marion University on the par-72, 6,582-yard course, AU entered Day 2 after being tied with Charleston Southern after the first two rounds of play. Both teams hold a 10 stroke lead over the third place Chattanooga entering the third and final round. After shooting +6 for the day, Charleston Southern took a 2 stoke lead to take the title. Furman (+11), High Point (+14), an Francis Marion (+14) rounded out the top 5.
Shooting an even par in Round 3, Augusta's Alex van Wyk held steady at third for the entirety of the tournament. He shot 71(-1) and 70(-2) in the first 2 rounds. Brother Ben van Wyk and Dawson Booth finished tied for 7th (+2). Dan Sheehan finished tied for 30th and Brock Hoover finishd tied for 79th.
