Milledgeville, Ga –AU volleyball opened Peach Belt Conference play on Friday night with a win against the Georgia College Bobcats 3-1. Augusta improves to 10-3, 1-0 PBC while Georgia College fell to 4-9, 0-1 in the PBC.
The Jaguars utilized a balanced attack to take down the in-state foe – three AU players carded double-digit kills.
Kylie Martin and
Alyssa Frazier each registered 12 kills while fellow senior
Julie Archer notched a season-best 10 kills in the matchup.
Defensively,
Kylie Martin led the way with 19 digs. Libero
Holland Martin had 16 dig of her own in the 4 set match.
Alexis Diaz-Infante added 5 digs to the defensive effort.
Samantha Zittrauer's 24 assists led AU.
Augusta led Georgia College in kills 51 to 32. The Jaguars also led in aces 7 to 2 and assists 46 to 30. The visiting team also led in digs 77to 65.
Augusta is back in action on Wednesday Sept 29 in Aiken, SC to take on rival USC Aiken in a PBC Contest.
