Box Score AIKEN, S.C. – After dropping the first set, the Augusta University volleyball team rallied to take a 3-1 win over region opponent North Greenville. The victory marks the Jags first win of the 2021 season.
North Greenville narrowly won the first set 25-23 before AU took sets two, three, and four 25-20, 25-25, and 25-16. Augusta moves to 1-3 on the year while North Greenville falls to 0-3.
The Jags were led by Alabama native
Alyssa Dutton's 14 kills on 32 swings.
Alyssa Frazier and
Kylie Martin both notched double-digit kills, hitting 12 and 10 respectively. Senior
Kylie Martin collected her second double-double in as many matched by adding 10 digs.
Brooklyn Holthaus saw her first action of the season, dishing 20 assists to match counterpart
Samantha Zittrauer's 20 assists.
Libero
Holland Martin led the defensive effort with 21 digs.
Chloe Allen and
Alyssa Frazier added to the defensive effort with 6 blocks apiece.
For the match, The Jaguars outhit the opposing team .221 to .109. Augusta also collected 9 aces to UNG's 2.
The Jaguars return to action at 6pm against Lincoln Memorial for its last game of the tournament.
