INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Augusta University men's basketball team is ranked No. 17 in the latest NCAA National Rankings, released by the National Association of Basketball Coaches on Tuesday afternoon. Augusta is currently 12-2, having dropped a conference bout to Lander and defeating Columbus State since the last rankings were revealed.
From Head Coach Dip Metress
"Staying nationally ranked for an extended period of time is very difficult. Hopefully we can play the second half of our season as strong as we played the first half."
The Jaguars are the top-ranked team in the country for field-goal percentage defense and scoring margin, defeating teams by an average of 22.3 points. AU also holds the top spot in three-point field goal percentage in the nation.
