Wingate, N.C.----Augusta University sophomore
Cassie Lagan led eight runners in the top 20 Friday, helping the Jaguars take second place in the 12th annual Bulldog Stampede Friday at the WU Cross Country Facility. Lagan ran a 6k time of 23:22.90, the fastest 6k time in the Peach Belt Conference this season.
Lagan finished second on the individual leader board, 13.1 seconds behind Wingate's Grace Burrell.
Riley Triplett finished fourth in the event with a time of 23:33.00.
Caroline Pierce finished eighth overall in 24:11.20 and
Madison Kennedy rounded out the top-10 with a 24:22.50 finish.
Haley Gilbert,
Grace Gyetko,
Brayden Bailey, and
Cheyenne Ryan all finished in the top-20.
Julia Masino rounded out the Jaguar squad with a 22
nd place finish.
Six schools and 39 student-athletes competed in the Bulldog Stampede.

On the Horizon for the Jaguars
Â
Augusta will play host for the Peach Belt Conference Championships November 5
th. The men's 8K race is slated for 9:00 a.m. The women's 5K race follows at 10:15 a.m.

Wingate University is hosting the 2022 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional cross country meet Saturday, Nov. 19 at the WU Cross Country Facility. NCAA officials made the change, moving the site from McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte to the University's 540-acre campus in Eastern Union County.
