No. 2 Augusta Downs Barton 77-65 at Pickle Classic

Mount Olive, N.C.- The No. 2 Augusta University men's basketball team defeated Barton 77-65 to improve to 2-0 for the season. The Jaguars were led by the dynamic scoring of Tyshaun Crawford and Miguel Arnold.

The men's basketball team will return to home on Nov. 20 at 4:00pm when they take on Fayetteville State for a "PACK THE HOUSE' event. The game will serve to honor former director of athletics Clint Bryant and his 34 years of service to the university. During halftime, there will be a court dedication ceremony in celebration of Clint Bryant's legacy.

After shooting 42 percent in the first half, Augusta found themselves down 31-36 heading into the second half of the game. David Viti nailed two straight three-pointers to spark a 17-0 scoring run to help Augusta take a 59-42 lead over Barton with 6:32 remaining in regulation. The Jaguars would never look back, capturing the 77-65 win over the Bulldogs.

Tyshaun Crawford and Ja'Queze Kirby both carded double-doubles – Crawford had 23 points and 14 rebounds while Kirby had 13 points and 12 rebounds. Both also had a single block in the contest. Miguel Arnold turned in 22 points, six rebounds, and two steals.

The Jags return home to face off with Fayetteville State on Sunday Nov. 20 for the "PACK THE HOUSE' event to honor former director of athletics Clint Bryant. Find tickets HERE
