WINGATE, N.C.-The Augusta men's cross country team is National Championship bound after earning second place at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship in Wingate, N.C. The Jaguars will compete in the national meet in Seattle, Washington on Dec. 2
RESULTS
"Really excited to have the men going back to nationals", said head coach
Jacob Burgamy. "They did a great job of getting position early on and keeping the pack together which, with as strong as we tend to be over the second half, made it really hard on everyone else to gain ground."
Avery Jaynes (31:43.54), Patrick Motes (31:45.53), and Thomas Rischar (31:47.97) all finished as a group, taking home 12
th, 13
th, and 14
th respectively.

Andrew Todd came in 36
th after posting a time of 32:47.32 and
Carlos Rodriguez was 38
th in 32:58.09. All of the Augusta University runners placed in the top 40 of the event.
The Jaguar men earned 58 team points for their second place finish out of 20 teams. The top three teams were the following: No. 1 Wingate University (26), No.2 Augusta University (58) and No.3 Anderson University (93).

The top three teams advance to the NCAA National Championship in Seattle, Washington on Dec.2. The top three individuals from teams not advancing will qualify to compete in the national meet. More information about the National Championships will be forthcoming at augustajags.com
