WINGATE, N.C.-The Augusta women's cross country team wrapped an impressive season – finishing seventh at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship in Wingate, North Carolina on Nov. 19. Madison Kennedy and Cassie Lagan paced AU, finishing in 35
th and 36
th.
"The women got 7th which is a couple steps up from last year," said head coach Jacob Burgamy. When you consider that we graduated our top 2 individuals from last year's team and aren't graduating anyone from this team, it's a big step in the right direction going into next year."
Madison Kennedy (23:19.13) and Cassie Lagan (23:20.83) paced the Augusta squad. Riley Triplett completed the small group, crossing the finish in 23:30.21 in 39
th place.
Caroline Pierce finished her 6k in 23:57.22. Haley Gilbert finished her race in 24:15.19 in 57
th place while Julia Masino finished 67
th (24:37.79). Grace Gyetko rounded out the Augusta squad in 24:36.34.
