No. 2 Augusta Men's Basketball Falls to No. 20 Virginia Union on the Road

Richmond, VA- The Augusta University men's basketball team fell to Virginia Union 83-62 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference play. Augusta moves to 5-1 while Virginia Union improves to 7-1

Rebounding and foul trouble plagued the No. 2 Jaguars. Virginia Union out-rebounded Augusta 40-23. The home team converted 23 points from second chance buckets.

After jumping out to an early 9-4 lead, the hoe team went on a offensive spurt that game them an 8-point lead heading into the locker room at halftime. Despite shooting 41 percent in the second half, AU was unable to stifle the offense of Virginia Union's Raemaad Wright. The lead scorer for the Cougars had 16 points in the second half alone. Augusta would fall 83-62.
 
Miguel Arnold led Augusta, carding 17 points. David Viti tallied 12 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Tyshaun Crawford had 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Darren Lucas-White had 10 points and 6 assists


The Jaguars return home this Thursday Dec 8th at 11:00am for a matchup against Bowie State. The game will serve as the annual Education Day Game sponsored by Queensborough Bant.
