Rebounding and foul trouble plagued the No. 2 Jaguars. Virginia Union out-rebounded Augusta 40-23. The home team converted 23 points from second chance buckets.
After jumping out to an early 9-4 lead, the hoe team went on a offensive spurt that game them an 8-point lead heading into the locker room at halftime. Despite shooting 41 percent in the second half, AU was unable to stifle the offense of Virginia Union's Raemaad Wright. The lead scorer for the Cougars had 16 points in the second half alone. Augusta would fall 83-62.
