Dahlonega, Ga- The Augusta University men's basketball moved to a tie for third place in the conference with a 73-65 defeat of North Georgia. Augusta improves to 17-3, 7-3 in in conference play while North Georgia falls to 12-8, 5-6 in Peach Belt play. AU's game on Saturday against Georgia College will dictate second place in the conference.

Augusta led for most of the contest, but North Georgia hung tight, clawing back from a 14 point first half deficit to cut the lead to three early in the second half. The Jaguars responded with a 7-0 spurt, however, to stretch the lead back to 10 and held UNG at bay the rest of the night.

Darren Lucas-White led scoring for AU. In 25 minutes of play, the junior was 3-for-3 from the field and turned in 18 points.
Miguel Arnold and
Tyshaun Crawford both turned in double-doubles. Arnold had 16 points and 10 rebounds while Crawford added 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
