AUGUSTA, Ga - The Augusta University Softball team hosted Emmanuel College Wednesday afternoon and swept the Lions. The Jags won 4-2 in game one before exploding to take game two 12-2 in five innings. Augusta is now 11-9 on the season and opens PBC Conference Play this weekend against USC Aiken March 5-6.
Game 1
Both Augusta and Emmanuel travels through the first four innings scoreless. A homer from
Jakayla Sullivan in the 5
th inning opened scoring in the fifth inning.
A single from
Lauren Evens in the same inning extended the Jaguar lead to 2-0.
Emmanuel answered with 2 runs of their own in the sixth before
Olivia Biles hit a 2 RBI single for the final two runs of the game.

Jakayla Sullivan was 3-for-4 with 2 runs and 1 RBI.
Olivia Biles was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI.
Mary Tillman (7-4) pitched all 7 innings for AU, striking out 5 batters and allowing 5 hits.

Game 2
Eleven runs in the second inning led Augusta to a 12-2, five inning victory in the second game of the day.
Doubles by
Emma Seagrave and
Olivia Biles, a single by
Paige Patterson, and home runs by Kali Garret and
Lauren Evens helped pace the offensive surge. Seven different AU players all carded hits in the contest.
Maggie McBrayer (4-6) pitched a complete game for the Jags, tossing 5.0 innings and allowing 6 hits.
Four different pitcher sound the mound for the Lions.
