Augusta, Ga - Hot shooting from the Jaguars pushed AU past Columbus State 87-75 in the PBC Tournament Semifinals. The Jaguars will face #25 Flagler tomorrow in the tournament final at 7pm. The two teams split their regular season meetings.
Â
The Jags were 10-for-26 (38.5%) from beyond the arc, including four from
Miguel Arnold, helping the AU snag the victory. It was a tight game throughout, but the Cougars were only in front early. Three pointer by the Cougars put Columbus State up 5-3, but that would prove to be the only lead for the visiting team. AU led 38-32 at the half.
Â
Augusta scored seven of the first 11 points of the period to go up 11 (47-36). Â The lead shrank to five with 9:28 to play with a Christian Chambers layup, but the Cougars would get no closer as Augusta was flawless from the free throw line over the final 10 minutes, denying the Cougars any opportunity to close the gap.
Â
Ja'Queze Kirby and
Miguel Arnold each scored 18 to lead the Jaguars while Crawford added 16 and a game-high nine rebounds and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the line. Cracknell added 11 and four assists.
