FRISCO, Texas – The No. 61 Augusta University women's golf program is set to play in its first ever Southland Conference Championship. After joining the league last year, Augusta looks to capture its first title and Automatic NCAA Regional spot. The tournament is set to begin Monday, April 18, in Conroe, Texas. The championship will consist of three rounds with Wednesday, April 20, serving as the final day of play. The three-day tournament will be hosted at Panorama Golf Club.

The seeding order for the Southland Championship has been determined by each program's Golfstat national ranking, making Augusta the top seed with a No. 61 national ranking. UIW will serve as the No. 2 seed, followed by No. 3 HBU, No. 4 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, No. 5 Delaware State and No. 6 Maryland Eastern Shore.
Monday's opening round is set to begin at 8 a.m. CT with the opening group from Eastern Shore, Delaware State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi teeing off first. Group two will begin at 8:09 a.m. and the remaining eight threesomes will subsequently tee off in nine-minute increments.
Following Eastern Shore, Delaware State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's start Monday morning, the threesomes from HBU, UIW and Augusta are set to get underway at 8:45 a.m. The final group is slated for a 9:21 a.m. start between HBU's Lou Rousselot, UIW's Lily Hirst and Augusta's
Chloe Holder.
The front nine will be played on the club's Rolling Hills course, and the second nine is slated for the Thunderbird course, resulting in a par 72, 6,072-yard course for the event.
The Southland Champion will earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Regionals May 9-11 at a site to be determined. Additionally, the individual champion, if not a part of the championship team, will be granted an automatic selection into the NCAA Regional Tournament.
Qualifiers from the NCAA Regional Tournaments will earn a spot in the NCAA Women's Golf Championship, which will be hosted at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., May 20-25.
