Augusta Baseball Drops Final Road Series to Georgia Southwestern

 
AMERICUS, GA – The Augusta University baseball team traveled to Americus to take on Georgia Southwestern for a three-game series this weekend.

With the losses, Augusta falls to 14-29, 6-19 in PBC conference. Georgia Southwestern improves to 21-23, 15-9 in PBC Play.

Augusta hosts Anderson and Erskine for midweek games before hosting its final PBC series April 29-30th.

April 30th marks senior day for the Jaguars. AU will recognize its graduating seniors prior to the first pitch in Saturday's doubleheader.  
 
GAME 1

In the first game of the series, The Hurricanes notched 11 hits to AU's 4. The Jags fell behind early and were unable to come back in the loss.
 
Pat Galvin, Walker Sinclair, Lukas Coker, and Jordan Wilkie each turned in hits for the Jaguars.

Mason Bernard (1-7) took the loss for Augusta. He pitched 6.2 innings, allowing ten hits and striking out two batters.

 
GAME 2
The Jags were again unable to cool the hot bats of the home team. Augusta was able to card 8 hits. Its lone run of the game off of a Skylor Murphy single in the 7th inning. AU would fall 9-0 in the second game of the series.
 
Kyle LaRoche was 2-for-3 while Pat Galvin and Harrison Aulds were both 2-for-4. Skylor Murphy had 1 hit and 1 RBI in the game.

Chase Horton (5-6) got the start for Augusta. Horton tossed 5 innings and allowed 4 runs. Brian Trepanier, Alex Brown, and Eli McMullen all pitched in relief.
 

GAME 3

Georgia Southwestern scored two unanswered runs in the first inning and four in the third to take an early lead in the seven inning game. Augusta was able to capitalize on a center field error in the fourth inning for an AU score.

Five different Jaguars carded a single hit in the contest. Dominique Canale got the start on the mound for Augusta. Jasper Dubberly, Britt Kelly, Nyle Grove, and Darius Dunn all sound saw time pitching.
