AUGUSTA, Ga – Augusta University dominated the rival USC Aiken Pacers 3-0 on Friday evening to kick off Parent's Weekend. The win moves Augusta to 11-4, 4-1 in conference play while Aiken moves to 10-5, 1-3 in PBC play.
AU had a record night, turning in its best hitting percentage of the season. The Jags were .274 for the night, with Jada Sugurataga and
Jazmyn Wheeler both hitting above a .400 clip. Wheeler turned in 14 kills with 1 error on only 31 swings. Kaylie Cleaver was also in double-digit kills, blasting home 10 kill during the evening.
Augusta held the advantage in kills, blocks, aces, and assists while Aiken put more digs in the highly anticipated contest.
Back in the libero jersey, libero
Kiera Barr led the Jaguars with 21 digs. Sugurataga added six blocks to the defensive effort.
Abigail Breeden led with 19 assists while
Samantha Zittrauer dished 15.
