AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's volleyball team swept Auburn University Montgomery 3-0 in their first match Saturday. In their second game, the Jags prevailed in a five set battle against University of Mount Olive. The Jaguars move to 5-2 for the season after going 4-0 for the weekend.
GAME 1 vs AUM
Alexis Diaz-Infante had a standout performance, blasting home 12 kills in only 19 attempts. Diaz-Infante's .579 hitting percentage is one of the highest all season.
Jazmyn Wheeler had 8 kills while
Kayli Cleaver and
Madelyn Eden each had 6 kills.
The Jaguars held the edge in the both aces in blocks. AU had 8 blocks to AUM's 3. The Jags also had 8 aces to the opponent's 2.
Augusta's defense was stingy in the match.

Kiera Barr,
Jazmyn Wheeler, and
Abigail Breeden each had double-digit digs
Abigail Breeden led with 14 assists.
Samantha Zittrauer had 12 assists.
GAME 2 vs Mount Olive
The Jaguars battled through their second five set match of the Pacer Invitational. After dropping the first set 19-25, AU went on to win the next two sets before narrowly dropping the fourth set. A 9-0 run helped the Jags close out the fifth set and the weekend with a perfect record.
Jazmyn Wheeler had 13 kills and 13 digs for another double-double. The junior also turned in 2 blocks and 2 service aces. Madelyn had 8 kills, leading the defensive front with a match-high 5 blocks.
Alexis Diaz-Infante added 8 kills and 3 blocks.
Defensively, libero
Kiera Barr led with 24 digs.
Dariana Luna had 15 digs.
Augusta will have a short rest through the week before playing in the PBC/Gulf South Crossover Friday Sept 9 and Saturday Sept 10. There, they will face host University of West Georgia, Valdosta State, and University of Montevallo.
