Augusta Women's Basketball Bests Flagler in Title IX 50th Anniversary Game - Three All-Time Leading Scorers Honored at Halftime

AUGUSTA, Ga. - the Augusta University women's basketball team blew past Flagler 68-52 on Saturday afternoon. Augusta improves to 12-6, 5-3 PBC while Flagler falls to 4-14, 1-7 PBC.

The Saturday afternoon game served to celebrate 50th Anniversary of Title IX and to commemorate the strong legacy of Augusta Women's Athletics since their founding in 1973. Title IX states that no person in the United State shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity. Since becoming a federal law, women's participation in college athletics has continually increased. Today, women make up 44% of all NCAA athletes.
