Augusta Retains Top-10 Status in Latest NABC National Ranking

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –The Augusta University men's basketball team is ranked No. 9 in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II Poll released on Tuesday afternoon.

"To stay in the top 10 is a testament to how hard our schedule has been this year," said head coach Dip Metress.

After defeating Georgia Southwestern 66-60 early in the week, Augusta suffered an uncharacteristic loss to Flagler on Saturday afternoon. The Saint gave the Jaguars their first conference loss of the season and snapped their 11-game winning streak and 27-game home winning streak. Prior to the game, the Jaguars had gone one full calendar year without losing at home – their last home loss coming from USC Aiken on Feb 17, 2021.

The Jaguars played most of the game without senior starter Darren Lucas-White. Lucas-White only played three minutes in the first half due to injury.

Tyshaun Crawford continues to pace Augusta and the entire Peach Belt Conference, averaging 21.2 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.

The Jaguars look rebound with a tough conference matchup against rival USC Aiken on play on Wednesday Jan 25 at 7:30pm in Aiken.  Live video and stats can be found at www.augustajags.com
