KAPOLEI, Hawaii – Augusta University men's golf ends the fall season with a fifth place finish at the Kapolei Invitational on Thursday.
Ryan van der Klis and
Dawson Booth finished tied for eighth at the Kapolei Golf Course.
The Jaguars went 15-under 273 in Thursday's final round.
Improving one spot in the final round, Augusta finished behind No. 23 Baylor, No. 53 Florida Gulf Coast, and team champions No. 46 Loyola Marymount. No. 86 U finished ahead of No. 41 BYU.
In the third round,
Ryan van der Klis used six birdies to finish the day with a 2-under par 70. The graduate transfer wrapped his tournament 12-under and tied for eight.
Dawson Booth used an identical 70 to finish knotted with teammate van der Klis at 12-under and also tied for eighth.
Stefan Jacobs improved two strokes, shooting 69 in his final round and jumping six spots to finish tied for 25
th.
Cole Steven also made huge gains on the final day of competition, improving four strokes on his round 2 score and turning in a 3-under 69 to finish tied for 55
th.
Behn Heyns improved seven strokes to card a 67 and finish tied for 69
th.
