NEWBERRY, SC. – The Augusta University women's basketball team recorded a 40 point victory over Newberry on the road Tuesday afternoon. AU won 87-45. The Jaguars will have an extended break, hosting Erskine on Sat Dec 30 at 1:30pm.

Autumn Phillips hit six three pointers to lead Augusta with 20 points. The Jaguars' leading scorer added two blocks and two assists to the stat sheet. Phillips was 6-for-7 from beyond the arc and perfect from the free throw line.
Tomiyah Alford tallied 12 points, two steals, and four rebounds.
Je'Bria Fullwood and
Nyaneit Puok also registered 12 points. Fullwood led with rebounding effort, snagging 12 boards.
Yamani Paul and
Mone Florence each added 8 points to the scorecard.
Augusta capitalized on turnovers, turning 24 Newberry turnovers into 33 points. The Jaguars were also dominant in the paint, outscoring the Wolves 40-20 down low.
Both teams were even through the first five minutes of the opening quarter until Phillips went on an offensive tear, netting four three-pointers in the final five minutes of the first quarter.
AU would hold a 36-28 lead heading into halftime. AU would go on to outscore Newberry 30-11 in the third quarter and 21-6 in the final quarter for the blowout victory.
