AUGUSTA, Ga – The Augusta University men's basketball team outlasted Virginia Union to win 92-90 in triple overtime. Augusta improves to 4-2 overall. Virginia Union is now 4-5. Augusta will host its first Education Day Game on Thursday, Dec 7
th at 11:00am. AU will welcome over 2,500 Richmond County fifth graders. Admission is free to all.

Demitri Garner turned in a career-high 29 points, hitting six three pointers in the contest.
David Viti had 18 points and five rebounds. Maxamillian Amadasun turned in his sixth double-double of the season, scoring 13 points and pulling down 11 boards.
Zyere Edwards and
Ja'Queze Kirby were also in double-figure, adding 12 points and 10 points respectively.
It took three extra periods to decide the victor in AU's non-conference matchup against the visiting Virginia Union Panthers. Virginia Union's Tahj Harding opened the first overtime with two made free throws and a jumper. A three pointer from Gardner and a layup from Edwards brought the score to 70-69. Virginia Unions Jonathan King missed one of two layups, pushing the game to the second overtime period.
The second overtime saw Augusta's Kirby and Virginia Union's Jonathan Salazar foul out. AU held a two point lead with seven second left to play, before a two-point basket from Hardin forced a third overtime. The visiting team took a four-point lead with 1:46 left to play. A huge triple from Gardner put the Jags up 89-88. An answering bucket from the opposing team put Augusta down one point, but a putback layup from
Timmy Sellers sealed the game for Augusta.
