AUGUSTA, Ga - The Augusta University Women's Basketball team came from behind to win a 72-61 Peach Belt Conference contest against North Georgia at home in Christenberry Fieldhouse on Wednesday. Augusta improves to 13-8, 6-5 PBC while North Georgia moves to 14-6, 6-5 in conference play. Senior Kennedi Manning reached 1,000 career points.

After trading baskets, North Georgia went on a 7-1 run to close the second quarter and take a 32-24 lead at the half. Mone Florence led first half scoring for Augusta with 6 points, going 3-for-5 from the field. Kiera Howard added 5 points and 2 assists in the first half of play.
 
North Georgia's Kaylee Sticker hit a three just with just under five minutes left in the third quarter to push the Nighthawk lead to 41-35.
 
Manning hit a turn-around layup to shrink the North Georgia lead to 2 with two minutes left in the quarter.The senior forward followed with a block on the defensive end before North Georgia's Caroline Martin hit a shot from beyond the arc to make it push the lead to 46-41. An offensive rebound and put back from Tomiyah Alford shrunk the Nighthawk lead to 46-43heading into the final period.
 
A layup from Autumn Phillips gave tied the game at 53-53. Another layup from Phillips gave AU its first lead of the game with 6:15 left to play.  The Jags would never look, capturing a 72-61 victory over North Georgia.
 
Four Jaguars were in double-figures during the game. Kiera Howard le with 16 points, 3 assists, and 7 rebounds. Tomiyah Alford added 15 points and 6 rebounds. Kennedi Manning carded 14 points and 7 rebounds while Autumn Phillips had 12 points and 2 assists.
 
Caroline Martin paced North Georgia with 20 points.
 
Augusta returns to action this Saturday against Georgia College for the annual Military Appreciation Game. Tipoff is set for12:00pm.
