DAHLONEGA, Ga – The Augusta University women's basketball dropped a 61-56 contest to the North Georgia Nighthawks Wednesday night. Augusta is now 17-10, 10-7 PBC while North Georgia improves to 18-8, 10-7 PBC.

After being down 39-32 at halftime, the Jags mounted a third quarter comeback, outscoring the Nighthawks 19-8 in the third quarter. A layup from
Autumn Phillips with 2:35 left in the third quarter sparked a 10-2 run that put Augusta ahead 51-47 heading into the final period.
North Georgia would respond in kind, outscoring Augusta 14-5 in the fourth quarter to seal the home victory.
Autumn Phillips led with 16 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals, Tomiya Alford also carded double figures, scoring 11 points and leading the Jaguar rebounding effort with 8 for the night.
Kiera Howard and Kennedi manning both tallied 8 points in the loss.
The Nighthawks were led by Niah Lutz's 22 points.
The Jaguars play their final home game of the season on Saturday Feb 25

Augusta will then travel to Georgia Southwestern for the 2023 Peach Belt Conference Women's Basketball Tournament starting Wednesday March 1. Seeding will be determined after Saturday's contest.
