GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Augusta University women's softball team dropped its Peach Belt Conference opener to Lander 7-4 on the road. With the loss Augusta is now 11-4 four while Lander is 7-4, 1-0 PBC.

The home team got on the board early, scoring three in the third inning before hitting a three RBI homer and bringing the score to 6-0.

Lauren Evens home run to left center field in the fourth inning which scored Bailey Roberts and put two runs on the board for the visiting Jaguars. Lander scored a single run in the sixth inning off a single up the middle before Augusta answered with a two-run seventh inning to close the game.

Grace Bridges, bringing the final score to 4-7.

Lauren Evans was 2-for-3Â with two RBI in one run to lead the jags. Six other Augusta players carded at a single hit in the game.

Alissa Bollinger started on the mound for a AU, tossing 2.1 innings. Bollinger allowed seven hits for six runs before
Hannah Turner pitched the final 3.2 innings. Turner would allow three hits for one run on striking out two batters.
Augusta will complete its final two games of the three game series against Lander tomorrow. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 1:00 PM
